1. Who we are

Hearth (“we”, apphearth.com) provides a shared calendar and local-events discovery service. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

2. What we collect

Account data — your name, email, and (if you sign in with Google) basic Google profile information. We do not request access to your Google Calendar or Gmail.
Content you create — households, members, events you propose or submit, messages, and RSVPs.
Technical data — IP address, device/browser information, and basic usage needed to operate and secure the Services.

3. How we use it

To provide and secure the Services, authenticate you, personalize event suggestions, send transactional and (optional) digest emails, and comply with legal obligations. You can unsubscribe from digest emails at any time.

4. How we share it

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Services — for example hosting and database (Vercel, Supabase), email delivery (Resend), authentication (Google sign-in), and error monitoring — under agreements that limit their use of the data. Event listings you submit for publication are shown to other users in your city.

5. Cookies & sessions

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. It is essential to the Services; we do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Retention & your rights

We keep your data while your account is active and as needed for legal/operational purposes. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your households and associated private data.

7. Minors

The Services are not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted transport, hashed passwords, scoped access) to protect your data, though no method is perfectly secure.
